9:30 a.m. What Makes InVigor's POD Shatter Reduction Technology Different?
Robert Haman, BASF - Devils Lake, ND
Robert grew up on a farm located 15 miles east of Devils Lake, ND. He earned a B.S. in Plant Industries Management at the University of Minnesota-Crookston and currently serves as a Seed Advisor with BASF covering northeastern North Dakota and northern Minnesota. He has been with BASF for 7 years.

Ray Albrecht, Cargill, Inc. - West Fargo, ND
Ray grew up on a farm near Wimbledon, ND, and graduated from NDSU. His roles in agriculture have included Research Tech for USDA-ARS in Fargo, Plant Manager/Production Supervisor for Busch Ag Resources Seed Operations in Moorhead, Sunflower Hybrid Testing Manager for Monsanto in Fargo, and now as Seed Merchant for Cargill Oilseed Crush plant in West Fargo.

Jennifer Webster, CHS, Inc. - Inver Grove Heights, MN
Jennifer has been a canola buyer for CHS Hallock since 2017, working to procure canola growers. She also works to expand CHS presence in Southern Canada, buying soybeans and selling meal. She grew up on a Wisconsin farm growing corn, soybeans, and livestock. She moved to Langdon, ND, in 2014 where she trained for CHS upon graduating with an agribusiness degree.

Jason Snell, Syngenta - Chokio, MN
Jason was born and raised on a crop farm near Chokio, MN. He graduated from NDSU in 2002 with a B.S. in Agricultural Systems Management and began his career with Interstate Seed Company in canola hybrid screening and trialing. He moved to Syngenta in 2010 as an NK Seed Representative in west central MN and currently serves as an Agronomic Service Representative.

Ben Schroeder, DEKALB - Devils Lake, ND
Ben has worked in the seed industry in North Dakota since 1998. He has worked as a retail sales agronomist in southwest North Dakota, working as an early pioneer in direct harvest. More recently, Ben has worked as a Field Sales Representative for DEKALB canola in Devils Lake, North Dakota, representing the brand in the northeast part of the state.

Kristie Sundeen, Pioneer - Brocket, ND
Kristie is a Pioneer Field Agronomist for NE ND/NW MN. Previously she was a Seed Advisor with BASF and a Field Sales Rep/US InVigor Sales Lead with Bayer. She also had her own crop consulting business (‘07–‘15). She grew up on a family small grain farm near Langdon. She earned a B.S. in Agricultural Business and an Associate’s Degree in Agronomy from UM-Crookston.

Dave Grafstrom, University of Minnesota - Roseau, MN
Dave is the Minnesota Canola Production Centre site agronomist. He has a B.S. in Agronomy from UM and Ph.D. from NDSU. He worked for BASF for 14 years in research, technical service, and market development. He also worked for Northland College as a Farm Business Management Instructor.

Janet Knodel, North Dakota State University - Fargo, ND
Janet is a Professor and Extension Entomologist at NDSU in Fargo. She has provided statewide leadership for Extension Entomology, the ND IPM Program, and coordinates/co-edits the NDSU Crop & Pest Report. Her extension outreach/applied research focuses on insect pests of field crops and IPM strategies for wheat, barley, canola, soybean, pulse crops, and sunflower.
2:00 p.m. New Insights that Help Manage Canola Disease
Luis del Rio, North Dakota State University - Fargo, ND
Luis received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 1999. He joined NDSU’s Department of Plant Pathology in 2001. His research interests include epidemiology and the management and biological control of fungal diseases with emphasis on diseases caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.
3:00 p.m. State of the Current Ag Environment & Its Financial Effects
Steve Onstad, AgCountry Farm Credit Services - Grand Forks, ND
and finance industry. Since joining AgCountry in 2008, he has been part of the credit department analyzing diverse farm operations’ financial conditions and structuring loans. He serves on the AgCountry Credit Committee and currently manages credit officers and provides credit oversight to branch offices.
3:45 p.m. What's Happening in Canola Fields
Ron Beneda, CHS, Inc. - Adams, ND
Ron grew up on a farm in Walsh County, ND, and graduated from NDSU in 1978. He has a distinguished Extension career serving as the Agent for Richland County (‘78-’79) and Cavalier County (‘79-’14). He received the Northern Canola Growers Assn. Award of Excellence and the NDSU Outstanding Agriculturalist Award for Cavalier County. He now works as an Ag Specialist for CHS.
